Five interesting facts about the earth 🌍.

Five Interesting facts about the earth :

➡️About 70% of earth surface is covered by water.

➡️ Earth has not equal gravitational force everywhere.

➡️Earth contains around 8.7 million species are present on the earth.

➡️The days length is increasing

➡️ Atacama is the driest place on our earth.

1) 70% Earth's surface is water covered:

About 70% of the earth surface is water covered, with this 71% the oceans hold about 96.5% of the total earth water. You can also say that about about three fourth of the earth surface is covered with water. Remaining 29% of the earth crust is made up of land.

30% of the Earth's land is covered by forest's around 4 billion hectares ( one hectare= 2.47 acre's). Dessert covers 33% of the land surface.

2) Earth has not equal gravitational field?

Gravity is what holds us and other things together. You might consider the earth's gravitational force is same everywhere on earth but it varies because our earth is not perfectly spherical and not uniformly dense. Gravity is strong at some places.

Strong and weak gravity:

Due to centripetal force you slightly weight more at the poles.

The gravitational force is slightly weak at the equator and this is due to that from the center of earth the equator are furthest.

3) Earth contains about 8.7 million species.

Scientist believe that there are around 8.7 million species of plants and animals are present on the earth. From that only around 1.2 million species have been identified and described by the scientists. Those identified species contains mostly insect's.

Largest specie on earth:

From the discovered specie's antarctic blue whale is considered the biggest animal on the planet Earth. It's weight is around 400,000 pound's

(approximately equal to 33 elephants and with 98 feet

 in length

Smallest specie on earth:

Mycoplasma genitalium a bacterium (parasitic) is considered the smallest specie on earth, with a size of 200 to 300 nm approximately.

4) The days length is increasing:

Earth was formed around 4.6 million years ago as scientists believe. The day time on earth would have been rougly six hours long. By 620 million years ago this had increased to 22 hours. Now!  Today the average day is 24 hours long which is increasing by about 1.7 milliseconds. The reason is that, due to spinning of earth the position of it's tidal oceans bulges and the moon is showing down earth rotation through the tides it creates. This result in getting out days longer but not long enough as it will not disturb our daily life.

5) Driest place on our earth?

While with the name driest place you often think about some deserty please. Yes! You're right. The Atacama desert which is present in the Northern chile considered as the driest place on the earth. It receives less than 1milimeter of precipitation each year and even some areas only get one drop of water in more than 500 years. Just imagine how difficult life would be there۔
